Neddick

Neddick

Red-tailed Hawk
Buteo jamaicensis

Originally from Cape Neddick, Maine, Neddick was found after being struck by a vehicle in 1998. Her right wing was broken, and the elbow dislocated. Unfortunately, these injuries permanently impaired her flight ability, so she would not survive if returned to the wild. She first came to VINS and served as a glove-trained education ambassador but retired and settled quickly into the more relaxed life of an exhibit ambassador in 2014.
