Bloomfield came to VINS in 1996 with a fractured humerus. Found underneath a powerline in Bloomfield, VT, we believe Bloomfield collided with the powerline, resulting in her injury. Unfortunately, her fracture healed in the incorrect position, leaving her with reduced flight. Bloomfield is our oldest education ambassador. These days she exercises with short flight sessions, gets daily arthritis medication, and a heat lamp in winter. She can be spotted sunning on her trainer’s glove during a program, or flapping vigorously to bathe in the rain.
