Each year CWBRAC receives roughly 1000 patients. The cause for their injuries varies from cat attacks, to collisions with vehicles, or lead toxicity. A third of the time, rehabilitation staff never really know what caused the trauma the birds arrive with. For the most part though, many of the birds arriving for care find themselves injured due to a human cause whether directly due to collisions with windows, or indirectly due to habitat and resources destruction or depletion leading to starvation and illness.
