Snowy was bred in captivity in New York, in July 2006. Being raised by humans results in imprinting and means she does not have the skills required to survive as a wild bird. Although imprinting can make training a bird as an education ambassador a little easier, Snowy’s training sessions indicated she is better suited as an exhibit ambassador. She is much more comfortable being able to view and call out to visitors on her own time and terms.
