VINS adopted Aurora in 2012 from a conservation breeding program in East Aurora, New York. At the time, when he was just a few weeks old, our staff spent as much time as possible with him from the start, so that he would become comfortable around people and unfamiliar situations. Today, Aurora is fully glove-trained and a crucial part of VINS educational programs, both at our nature center and throughout the local area.
